"I’m no good with action shots.

Sports games, moving traffic, a busy market… my nightmare.

A lot of my photos are made slowly. Often of objects or environments that are static, giving me plenty of time to work out all the details.

Driving down the coast one eve I saw the perfect middle ground for my slow pace to pick up a little speed. Hang gliders drifting along the beach almost in slow motion. Meandering just enough for me to spot an empty signage frame at the bottom of some stairs. And then in a moment, it was done.

And it’s back to the quiet metaphor of climbing stairs to find another frame. "
